The tennis team competed in their first district match against Ennis on Tuesday, August 20. Both teams dealt with the intense heat while duking it out in doubles. Kaufman quickly jumped up with a 2-1 lead, courtesy of Laney Sanders/Olivia Perez at line one girl's dubs and Steven Quiroz/Samantha Sipriano in mixed. However, Ennis responded by battling back and grabbing a 4-3 lead on Kaufman once doubles completed.

Kaufman refused to go home without a fight. The Lions quickly responded by rattling off seven straight wins before their opponents could deliver one victory in singles. Laney Sanders, Olivia Perez, and Meghan Crowley led the charge by defeating their opponents with ease. Kaufman's boys also contributed with three wins with Jackson Haynes, Diego Santoyo, and Lance Ivie handling their opponents victoriously. Isabella Negri delivered the final blow with a win in a super tiebreaker.
